Jordan top Whiskey Creek manager for ’05
KEARNEY, Neb. - (April 8, 2006) Michael Jordan, manager
of Kearney’s Whiskey Creek Wood Fire Grill, was named the company’s
2005 General Manager of the Year at its annual meeting in La Jolla,
Calif. The Kearney-based restaurant chain operates 11 stores across
the country and is opening a 12th in Hays, Kan., on May 8.
Jordan joined Whiskey Creek in 2001 in Grand Island and was named
manager of the Kearney store later that year.
Whiskey Creek founder and President Jim Gardner credited Jordan for
his dedication in 2005, especially after Jordan found out his
11-year-old son Cody had Wilson’s disease, a rare liver disease that
required a transplant and numerous Air Care trips to hospitals in
Denver and Omaha.
“Through it all, Jordan not only supported his family but also
remained an invaluable member of the Whiskey Creek organization,”
said Gardner. “During his family’s tremendous tribulation, he
continued to maintain the high standards that have made Whiskey
Creek so successful.”
As manager of the year, Jordan and his family were given a Disney
vacation

THE VILLAGES — Whiskey Creek Makes Mark on Villages
Sheriff Bill Farmer knew he'd witnessed something
special Thursday evening as he watched the hot branding
iron burn the charred image of his family's ranch mark
into the wooden pine bar. Careful hands guided the hot

the family brand — WOF — in the Whiskey Creek Wood Fire
Grill restaurant in Lake Sumter Landing.

(Feb 23, 2007) WHISKEY CREEK PLAN INCLUDES 35 FRANCHISES
"We wanted controlled growth from the start, and we
followed that business plan," said company President Jim
Gardner. "Our goals have changed a bit. Now it's time to
take some bigger steps toward growth." Although
the Whiskey Creek chain grew to include 11 stores in
four states, the restaurants remained company-owned
until last year, when the first franchise store, the
12th overall, opened in Hays, Kan. The Kearney-based
company now is in the early stages of an aggressive
growth plan that will include at least five new store
openings in 2007 and as many as 35 in the next five
years.
